Based as we are in an old factory, erf 9 design is about making the functional beautiful and elevating the mundane. An erf is a uniquely South African word, meaning a demarcated plot on which something new can be built. This is in essence the service offered by erf 9 design consultancy; we create something beautiful and new from an item, a scheme, a colourway, a space or a style. It is our aim that unique and personalised design be accessible to all. We undertake the reworking and revitalizing of existing furnishings, spaces and walls, as well as the complete restyling of interiors from concept design to completion.
Our materials are ethically and locally sourced, environmentally-friendly and conform to our ethos of reducing waste, restoring, reinventing and repurposing wherever possible. Even when using or updating existing furniture or items, the highest possible finish-quality is delivered.
When it comes to domestic interiors and the hospitality industry; we are experienced in updating and uplifting, simplifying and styling, and repurposing and revitalizing interiors in the Bay and surrounding areas. We assist clients, builders and architects with the selection of architectural finishes, and can also provide a full turn-key service by sourcing and arranging all furniture, soft-furnishings, accessories and art. We are known for our use of innovative finishes, stylish accessorising and clever lighting, all of which bring schemes to life.
